Dr Tiong is one of the first fully fledged trained eye surgeons in Sarawak and is very widely experience in general comprehensive ophthalmology.Graduate from University of Malaya 1980. Eye training in Kuala Lumpur from 1983 to 1984. Trained and work in UK 1985-6. Obtained Diploma Ophthalmology (Ireland) 1985 FRCS Glasgow 1985 and FRCoph (UK) 1990 and Diploma in Palliative Medicine (Cardiff) 1999.

Work as eye specialist in Eye Department 1987 and Consultant Ophthalmologist Sarawak General Hospital 1988. Started private practice 1989 and was Consultant to Normah Medical Specialist Centre for five years and later Consultant Ophthalmologist in Timberland Medical Centre till to date.

Practice General Comprehensive Ophthalmology (including phacoemulsification cataract surgery, external eye diseases , medical retina , squint, glaucoma and eyelids). Part time hospice home care since 1998 .
