I have safely delivered my second baby in early November 2019 via caesarean section done by Dr. Sim Wen Shan.

I can’t thank her enough for taking care of me and baby throughout the pregnancy. I was having a high risk pregnancy – cervical incompetence and hypertension. I have all these complications during my first pregnancy, except that 2 big fibroids were being removed before my second pregnancy.

Dr. Sim has performed cervical cerclage on me at week 16 to prevent premature birth. Everything went well after the operation, I did not feel pain. The bleeding stopped after one week. My blood pressure was well controlled throughout the pregnancy by consuming low dose of labetalol. Unexpectedly, the worrying part was that I experienced several times of vaginal infection throughout the pregnancy, feeling itchy and hot sensation when passing urine. Worst thing was there were blood stains. I was hospitalized for 5 days in week 20 for observation to make sure the infection does not affect my cervix as the cervical cerclage was in place. I was on one week antibiotics.

During my stay at hospital, Dr. Sim and her team came to see me everyday and explained things clearly. I felt reassured every time after seeing Dr. Sim. She is a positive doctor putting on warm sincere smile when she came to see me. I, as a worrying mother, needed positivity. She is patient in explaining my conditions.

During each appointment visit, she welcomed me with her sincere smile once I opened her room door. She seemed more excited than me to see my baby growing healthily each month.

To all the mums-to-be out there, Dr. Sim is a reliable and professional doctor that you can count on. She is the best gynae that I have seen.
